Distributed Actuation
The RayTracker GC system features Distributed Actuation — each ∼80 foot building-block unit has an independent, low-voltage DC actuator, instead of a mechanical linkage connecting all rows. Distributed actuation allows for more power and more energy than competing trackers on most sites. With Distributed Actuation, there is no need for large mechanical linkages between rows, just low-voltage wires in existing cable trays or trenches. The absence of these linkages between rows provides easy installation, better reliability, better tracking accuracy, and minimizes grading. The RayTracker GC ∼80 foot building-block (24.3m) is suitable for installations of tens of kilowatts to hundreds of megawatts.

Technology
RayTracker GC maximizes energy production with Shade Avoidance Technology — a feature that eliminates energy-robbing tracker-to-tracker shading.
Precision
The tracking function is provided by a custom microprocessor controller that uses a GPS time reference and a precise astronomical algorithm to automatically and accurately point the panels at the sun. The position of each actuator is monitored by the controller to ensure alignment. One controller serves 12 RayTracker GC units, and is included with the system.
Complete
RayTracker GC is a complete PV racking system, supplied with module-specific, pre-drilled panel mounts and hardware. Each building-block unit typically accommodates 24 to 32 standard PV modules and will typically generate between 5.5kWp and 7kWp (depending on module type). RayTracker GC is compatible with most crystalline and thin film PV modules.
